- What was measured
- LC-ESI-MS/MS assay for carnosine, anserine and homocarnosine in rat plasma and tissues; linearity, limits of detection and tissue distribution.
What the authors reported
The method was linear from 15 to 1000 nmol/g with LOQ 12.5 pmol and LOD 4.2 pmol injected, and intra-day precision below 10%. Carnosine was highest in skeletal muscle, homocarnosine was found only in brain and cerebellum, and none of the three dipeptides was detected in rat plasma, liver, kidney or lung.
Limits of this study
Analytical method paper in tissue from male rats. Full text not read.
